Conversations with 100 Women in Music
In 2023, I released my album Typuhthâng—a project that brought together 100 female musicians from around the world, woven together with field recordings and chocolate created by women farmers in Congo. What I quickly realized was that the stories behind these voices were just as powerful as the music itself. Out of this realization, my podcast ViviTalks was born.
Each episode is a conversation with one of the women featured on the album. These are not just interviews—they are windows into the lives, creative processes, and journeys of musicians from every corner of the globe. Some are well-known artists, others are community leaders, composers, or performers who are reshaping what it means to be a musician today.
In ViviTalks, we talk about everything: inspiration, cultural identity, resilience, balancing artistry with life, and the role of community. These voices together form a living archive of women in music right now—a collection that celebrates diversity while reminding us of the common threads we all share.
What makes this podcast close to my heart is its intimacy. Many of these women recorded their contributions to Typuhthâng in their home studios or local community spaces. To then sit down with them—whether virtually or in person—and hear the deeper stories behind their music feels like completing a circle.
Whether you’re a musician, a music lover, or someone interested in the human stories behind sound, ViviTalks is an invitation to listen differently. To hear not just the notes, but the lives and worlds behind them.
🎧 You can find ViviTalks wherever you listen to podcasts. New episodes are added regularly—come join the conversation.
