“We still have the music,” I remind myself in moments when life feels overwhelming. If you’re feeling the same, take a deep breath and let this thought bring you some peace. Sending love and light your way—I hope this message finds you well.
Because we can find each other in sound, and in those shared moments, everything else fades away. Music has a way of bringing us back to ourselves, reminding us of the beauty in connection and the sweetness in life.
I’d love to share that space with you.
Join us in New York this month for a night of music and desserts, where every note and flavor is crafted to inspire and delight. I hope you’ll join me for our Brooklyn Concert & Dessert Tasting at Shapeshifter Lab on January 27th.
I’ll be performing on piano alongside the amazing James Robbins on bass and Allison Philips on trumpet. It’s going to be a night of deliciousness, and I’ll also be presenting some new songs. I’d love for you to be there! Make sure to get your Tickets.
Upcoming concerts and projects
After my collaboration with Eva Novoa at iBeam Brooklyn in December, I’m thrilled to be invited back for another project by interdisciplinary artist Art Jones, who is curating a tribute to Fred Ho. This special performance will feature Daniel Carter, Yuko Togami, Cecial López, Eva Novoa, and myself on February 15th at iBeam.
In March, I’ll be traveling to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to speak and perform at the “SHE: Festival of Women in Music” on March 15th.
I’m also excited to be part of the Intercontinental Club Sessions on March 20st. They wrote: “Experience the magic of Jazz on Lex with an exclusive live performance at The Barclay NY.” Get your tickets here.
Berklee Classes
This week, I’m back to teaching at Berklee, and I’m thrilled to share that in addition to Effortless Mastery, my Experimental Improv Ensemble, and Directed Study in Improvisation classes, I’ll also be teaching a new class: Professional Development Seminar through the Liberal Arts Department. I even made the fanciest PowerPoints for it! I’m looking forward to working with my incredible students again.
Hope to see you soon!!
Love, Vivienne

Sharing my voice on Noshir Mody’s new album Abstractions has been a fascinating journey. I’ve added many many layers of vocal textures over his captivating guitar melodies. Listen to my contribution in ‘A Kiss Beneath The Stars‘ – it’s worth your time. We even got a review:
“the sensual and romantic dreamscape of “A Kiss Beneath The Stars,” featuring Mody’s meditative coolness caressed by Vivienne Aerts’ heavenly, angelic voicings”
